Every great product has a story AND someone helping tell it.
For this edition of our “Behind Adobe Aqua” series, we're spotlighting Eunsan, Aqua’s Senior Product Marketing Manager. Over her 12 years at Adobe, she’s helped creatives find inspiration, connect with communities, and bring their ideas to life. Today, she helps share Aqua’s vision with the world: making creativity feel empowering, imaginative, and unbelievably fun from the very beginning.
We sat down with Eunsan to talk about her unexpected path into marketing, what inspires her about Aqua, and why creativity has always been at the center of her life.
Q. Hi! Who are you? Tell us about yourself!
My name is Eunsan, and I’m Aqua’s Sr. Product Marketing Manager. Outside of work, I'm an illustrator who loves drawing, reading, and crafting. I've been with Adobe for 12 years, which feels both like forever and no time at all! Over the years, I've worked across multiple teams including Aviary, Adobe Stock, Behance, and now Aqua. While each role has been different, they've all shared a common goal: helping creatives bring their ideas to life by giving them the tools, inspiration, and support they need.
How did you get into marketing in the first place?
I kind of fell into it, and into tech in general. I grew up in Canada and moved to New York for university because I was convinced I wanted to work in fashion. I interned at fashion magazines and brands like Dior, Ralph Lauren, V Magazine, Proenza Schouler all throughout my college years, but in the final semester, I took a chance on an internship at a tech startup. That experience led to my first job out of college.
The next startup I joined was eventually acquired by Adobe, and I've been here ever since. Across my various roles and teams, I’ve been able to build a wide range of skills, from short- and long-form content creation to event management, partnerships, community building, and product marketing. All of those experiences have come together in my current role at Aqua. Product marketing sits at the intersection of storytelling, strategy, and creativity, so it's been a natural culmination of everything I've learned along the way.
As a product marketer, how do you think about telling Aqua's story to the world?
Aqua's story is about making creativity feel empowering and fun from the very beginning, and hopefully inspiring life-long commitment to creativity. We do that through familiar creative activities like coloring pages and drawing tutorials, and in new ways that are new and interactive, like being able to turn your artwork into playable games. Being able to create something and then immediately see it transformed into 3D or place it in AR opens up a whole new level of creative exploration, something that wasn’t even imaginable when I was doodling on paper as a kid! It’s exciting to think about the impact that can have on kids' imaginations.
Describe Aqua's brand in 3 words.
Imaginative. Empowering. Fun.
What gets you fired up about your job?
I love seeing all the amazing artwork made by Aqua kids! I curate the artwork featured in Spotlight Island, which means I get a first look at the thousands of drawings, 3D creations, and coloring pages submitted every week. I feel incredibly lucky to spend my days working on a product that has a positive impact on young creators.
What personal connection do you have to creativity?
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, first with paper, pencil, and crayons, then with digital tools like Photoshop and Illustrator in my early twenties. I remember going to weekend workshops to learn those programs and they were so extremely difficult to understand! I also took art classes on and off in high school and college, but I often found traditional art education a little too rigid.
I’m not particularly disciplined and I've always enjoyed drawing what I want, how I want, even if it’s just a silly doodle, even if it's not the most technically advanced work. That's one of the reasons I love Aqua. To me, creativity has always been about self-expression, and Aqua gives kids the freedom to experiment, make mistakes, learn, and ultimately discover their own style without worrying about getting everything "right” or “perfect.”
What advice do you have for kids (or grown ups!) who aspire to product marketing?
Stay curious. One of the best things you can do is seek out opportunities to learn from people who know more than you do. Ask questions and don't be afraid to reach out to people whose work you admire. Some of the most valuable lessons I've learned throughout my career have come from watching and collaborating with talented teammates and mentors.
I'd also encourage people to take advantage of the many learning resources available today, whether that's a short online course, a workshop, a webinar, or even a YouTube tutorial. You don't have to become an expert overnight, but small steps and continuous learning add up over time.
